    Our Service Assistants/Bussers must be prepared to amaze! The Busser is responsible for facilitating the continuity of service by clearing and resetting vacated tables, maintaining cleanliness throughout the restaurant and restocking all front of house areas. The Busser maintains open communication with all front-of-house staff and continuously observes all guests to determine their needs.

    Responsibilities

    Duties and Responsibilities:
    • Greet guests with “Irrashaimase” in a courteous and professional manner as they enter and exit restaurant and assist with seating as needed
    • Remove dirty dishes, silverware, and glassware from tables between courses, when guests leave, and return them to the dishwashing area
    • Assist servers in serving tables during rush periods, running food, refilling drinks, and communicating guest needs
    • Communicate with hostess and servers to maintain service efficiency, and ensure guest satisfaction
    • Folds guests’ napkin when they leave the table to go to the restroom
    • Support servers by resetting vacated tables
    • Maintain cleanliness, sanitation for the front of the house area, to include all tables, chairs, floors, and various work stations
    • Restock dining room, tables, and workstations with dinnerware, silverware, chopsticks, napkins, soy, and joy sauces sweeteners, etc., when dining room is open
    • Maintain a clean and organized drink station
    • Must follow all steps of service as it applies to this job
    • Cut lemons, prepare and maintain ice tea and water pitchers
    • Maintain clean floors using safety procedures, and removes trash and cardboard to the appropriate trash or recycle bin
    • Completes all necessary paperwork; maintains files and records
    • Attend all required Kaizen Training events and/or staff meetings
    • Follow SZ standards of performance and service
    • Follow SZ Philosophy, Policies, and Procedures
    • Is committed to bring all guests The Joy of Sushi
    • Performs other duties as assigned by manager

    Qualifications

     

    Qualifications:
    • Excellent communication skills
    • High School Diploma or GED preferred
    • Food Handler’s certification required prior to training
    • Professional and caring demeanor

    Physical Requirements:
    • Stand and walk for long periods of time
    • Lift and move up to 50 pounds
    • Coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously
